Event Branding
The opportunity
The design prompt was the creation of a consistent branding for this event, where the design could be translated on multiple mediums. These mediums would promote an event of our choosing. The only real constraint was the time and date of the event, everything else was up to us.
The required mediums consisted of a Tabloid poster for advertising the event, a kiosk showcasing the different available products, a feather banner to guide individuals to the event grounds, and finally two digital advertisement formats.

What we did
The final design was inspired by colour palettes typically found in popular jazz genres — such as the blues — to not only make nod to the genre, but also give the poster some flare. The idea was to utilize the saxophone and explosion of colour to draw the viewer in, and have the subsequent information frame it together. The illustration was also made into variants depending on the format and medium selected.
The outcome
Since this project was a time crunch, being only a 3 week project for such a large scale, I believe I would have loved to explore more, from colour, typefaces and layouts to see how else this could have been laid out. Other than that, pretty happy with the final result.
I learned that though it was quite challenging at first, I was quite excited in working multiple formats and creating variants of a project, exploring just how many mediums it could cover. This might be something to consider when applying for my placement.
